We know robbers take items for their own gain. But why does this robber swallowed what he stole? I’ll tell you all about it. It was in Monterrey Mexico that this robber of 25 years of age stole a gold bracelet. The robber, Mr. Jose Rigoberto Cruz Salas, stole the bracelet from a little girl, 8 years old. However, when he was about to be caught, he swallowed the bracelet.
Northern Mexico Police reported this incident last May 27. The theft happened last May 25, on a Sunday. However he was not arrested right away, simply because of lack of evidence. His swallowing of the bracelet may prove to be effective, but only to spare him a couple of hours. When the authorities came, he swallowed the bracelet right away. Mr. Salas said it was his first instinct. When interviewed by the local newspaper, El Norte, he said “I just suddenly ate it.” When Mr. Salas saw the patrol coming, he didn’t think about anything else but to eat it. I’m not sure if the police saw him eating or swallowing it, but apparently they knew. That’s why the authorities ordered an x-ray of his stomach. In a couple of hours he was arrested after the x-ray revealed the stolen jewelry. In the end, swallowing what he stole could not help him get out of his crimes. What was done to him? He was given laxative pills to get out that gold bracelet. I’m just not sure whether the little girl would even want to wear that bracelet any longer. Perhaps her parents won’t tell her where it came? After they recover the bracelet, Mr. Salas will be faced with robbery charges. He could be sentenced to jail up to 15 years depending on the value of the bracelet he stole. They will know once he let it out.
